1.

Approval is requested on the application of 1200, Inc for a Retailer of Intoxicating Liquor by Drink (Bar) License for the 1200 Club located at 1200 E. US 24 Highway.

Approval is recommended to issue Change Order 2, to PO 126590 to Ingersoll Rand, adding $23,000.00 for additional expenses related to the routine maintenance of the Blue Valley and Missouri City air compressors for the Power & Light Department. This change order will bring the total amount of the purchase order to $50,000.00.



3.

Approval is requested on the application of MMG Missouri, Inc. to transfer a Retailer of Intoxicating Liquor by Drink License and a Sunday Sales License to Chili’s Grill & Bar located at 18900 E. 39th Street.

Approval is recommended to issue a purchase order to Gades Sales Co., Inc., in the amount of $72,505.00, for the purchase of energy efficient school zone signals for the Power & Light Department.



5.

Approval is recommended to issue a purchase order to Energy Solutions Professionals, in the amount of $28,688.00, for energy audits of City buildings.



6.

Approval is recommended to enter into price agreements (251-09) with Olathe Ford, Dick Smith Ford, Roberts Auto Plaza, Shawnee Mission Ford, Odessa Dodge and Diamond International for various departments for the period of December 8, 2009, through October 31, 2010. Expenditures will not exceed budgeted amounts.

Approval is recommended to issue a purchase order to Traffic Control Corporation, Inc., in the amount of $38,925.00 for the purchase of LED traffic signal modules for the Power & Light Department.

Approval is recommended to enter into a price agreement (329) with Energy Solutions Professionals, Inc., for energy audits for commercial and industrial Power & Light customers for the period of December 8, 2009, through September 30, 2010. This is a one-year agreement with two, one-year renewal options. Expenditures will not exceed budgeted amounts.

Approval is recommended to issue a purchase order to Gades Sales Co., Inc., in the amount of $31,931.00 for the purchase of pushbutton traffic signals for pedestrian crosswalks for the Power and Light Department.

09-181 - 2R. An ordinance finding, determining and declaring the necessity of acquiring general utility easements and temporary construction and grading easements for the construction, operation and maintenance of a public storm sewer designated as the Bellevista Storm Drainage Improvements, Project No. 70130602.



09-182 - 2R. An ordinance authorizing a supplemental agreement with the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission for the Little Blue Parkway project between R.D. Mize Road and Necessary Road.



09-183 - 2R. An ordinance authorizing an agreement with Mid-America Regional Council (MARC) transfer possession of a Smith Detections - ResponderR System Partnership Package and associated items for use by Independence's regional identified Hazardous Material Team.

09-185 - 2R. An ordinance authorizing a certain contract with the Independence, Missouri, School District permitting the City of Independence to construct and maintain a Fiber Optic Wide Area Network to service all School District locations for a sum payment not to exceed $3,417,086.00.



09-187 - 2R. An ordinance authorizing a contract for license of the public area of the Independence Square and vicinity in connection with the Santa-Cali-Gon Fair with the Independence Chamber of Commerce, from September 2 through September 6, 2010.



09-189 - 2R. An ordinance authorizing a contract with BBC Electrical Services, Inc. in an amount not-to-exceed $1,789,935.30 for the construction and installation of a fiber optic network; authorizing administrative change orders for an amount not to exceed $178,993.00 and/or for time extensions; and making the necessary appropriations through existing and future issuance of bond obligations to complete the project.

09-559 - An emergency ordinance issuing a Final Order related to the Public Utility Regulatory Policies Act of 1978 (PURPA) as amended by the Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007, not adopting or implementing new Federal standards or Section 374.
