1.

Council action is recommended to enter into a purchase order, in the amount of $97,144.60, to Fletcher-Reinhardt for Cooper Power Systems capacitor banks and associated parts for the Power & Light Department.



2.

Council action is requested to issue a change order to purchase order number 143295 in the amount of $23,551.14 for additional equipment needed for a fire apparatus (Asset #3659) remount for the Fire Department.

Council action is requested to issue a Purchase Order to The Wilson Group in the amount of $60,100.00 for retrofit of the restroom facility at Santa Fe Park.

16-066 - 2R. An ordinance approving the Marketplace Shopping Center Tax Increment Financing Plan, establishing a Redevelopment Area, designating the Redevelopment Area as a blighted area, approving the redevelopment projects, initiating tax increment financing in the Redevelopment Project Areas, and approving the Tax Increment Financing Contract between the City and WNQE Independence VI, L.L.C.

Purchase order 144788, in the amount of $59,850.00 was issued to Superior Bowen Asphalt Co. LLC. to repair street damage due to a water main break for the Water Department.

The City Clerk has received notification that the City Manager has accepted a grant from the Health Care Foundation of Greater Kansas City in the amount of $45,000.00, for the Health Department. These funds will be used to partner with Independence School District and Independence Housing Authority to prevent tobacco and nicotine initiation among Independence youth, and promote the Tobacco 21 Ordinance.



5.

The City Clerk has received notification that the City Manager has accepted a grant from the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission in the amount of $1,500.00, for the Police Department. These funds will be used to reimburse police officers for overtime worked while enforcing traffic laws pertaining to aggressive driving, DWI, seat belt and child safety restraint.



6.

The City Clerk has received notification that the City Manager has reappointed Fred Mills to the City Judicial Commission with a term expiring August 11, 2020.
