PUBLIC HEARING

A public hearing on proposed amendments to Chapter 14 of the City Code, Unified Development Ordinance.  Full Public Hearing.  Case # 14-175-01.  [Bill No. 14-020]

Proposed amendments include the following: 1) To Section 14-201, add definitions for 'Tobacco Store', Convenience Store with Fuel Sales, and Convenience Store without Fuel Sales; 2) Revise the Use Table 301-1 for Tobacco Store, Convenience Store with Fuel Sales, and Convenience Store without Fuel Sales; 3) Creating Section 14-419 'Tobacco/Convenience Store without Fuel Sales' and establishing minimum conditions for such uses.

CONSENT AGENDA
Reports and Recommendations of the City Manager
1.

Item No. 1 - Approval is requested on the application from AMA Enterprises, LLC to transfer the existing Unlimited Retailer of Intoxicating Liquor in Original Package License and Sunday Sales License for Discount Smokes and Liquor at 9935 E. Truman Road into their name as the new operator of this convenience store.



2.

Item No. 2 - Approval is recommended to issue a purchase order, in the amount of $74,982.00, to Burns & McDonnell for the implementation of the Cityworks work management program for the Power & Light Department.



3.

Item No. 3 - Approval is recommended to issue a purchase order, in the amount of $128,356.00, to Pomeroy IT Solutions for server hardware for the Power & Light Department. If approved, the purchase will be made per the WSCA cooperative contract #B27161.



4.

Item No. 4 - Approval is recommended to enter into a price agreement (251-14) with Roberts Chevrolet Buick for police and special services Chevrolet Tahoes for the period March 4, 2014, through October 31, 2014, with two, one-year renewal options. Expenditures will not exceed budgeted amounts.



5.

Item No. 5 - Approval is recommended to issue a purchase order to KC Utility Packaging, in the amount of $293,438.70, for substation B equipment & steel structures for the Power & Light Department.



6.

Item No. 6 - Approval is recommended to issue a purchase order, in the amount of $110,975.00, to Thermal Engineering International for the Blue Valley 3-4 Feed Water Heater Re-Tube for the Power & Light Department.




Resolutions:

14-713 - A resolution recognizing Eric Holder, Environmental Program Supervisor, in the Power and Light Department, as the employee of the month for March, 2014.



14-714 - A resolution appointing Brian Watson to the Board of Directors of the Independence Events Center Management Corporation.



14-715 - A resolution appointing Dan Sunderland and Dennis Hart as Alternate Members of the Board of Adjustment of the City of Independence, Missouri.



14-716 - A resolution reappointing Audrey L. Elder and Steven Campbell and appointing Amy Hart as members of the Heritage Commission of the City of Independence, Missouri.



14-717 - A resolution reappointing Gary Meek, Douglas C. Brenchley, Tom Lesnak and Amy Williams and appointing Paul Fray as members of the Tourism Advisory Board of the City of Independence, Missouri.
