1.

Item No. 1 - Approval is recommended to issue Change Order No. 1 to Purchase Order (PO) 138895, in the amount of $216,200.00, to Network & Security Technologies, Inc. for additional consulting services. If approved, the new PO total will be $248,200.00.

Item No. 2 - Approval is recommended to enter into a lease/purchase agreement with Deere Credit, Inc. for two wide area mowers and one commercial front mower with front deck, for the Parks Department.  The total purchase price is $115,726.47, with a total three-year net cost of $99,988.74, after trade-ins and interest.  The City will issue purchase orders in the amount of $33,329.58 in each of the next three fiscal years to complete this purchase.




Resolutions:

14-705 - A resolution appointing John S. Thornton to the Industrial Development Authority of the City of Independence, Missouri.



14-706 - A resolution affirming the Reappointment of R. Scott Smith to the Storm Water Control Oversight Committee.



14-707 - A resolution appointing Timothy Hahn to the Tree Commission for the City of Independence, Missouri.



14-708 - A resolution accepting the Midtown/Truman Road Corridor Redevelopment Corporation 2014 Annual Budget.



14-709 - A resolution creating an eleven-member citizens committee for reviewing public safety services and establishing its powers and duties through October 31, 2014.




ORDINANCES

14-001 - 2R. An ordinance amending Ordinance No. 18228, by correcting and revising one (1) legal description related to the 10th and Northern Sanitary Sewer Improvements; Project No. 70301104, in order to acquire Temporary Construction and Grading Easements for the project.



14-002 - 2R. An ordinance authorizing the execution of a Certain License Agreement with Shree Sai Shiv, LLC for an existing marquee sign and the installation of a solar panel on top of the sign within the street right-of-way at 13710 E. 42nd Terrace South.



14-003 - 2R. An ordinance authorizing a license agreement with BNSF Railroad Company in the amount of $3,696.00, allowing construction of overhead lines across railway property related to the Eckles Road Substation to Sibley 161 kv re-conductor project.



14-004 - 2R. An ordinance authorizing execution of a contract with Brandy Electric for installation and construction of ball field lighting at Mill Creek Park in the amount of $297,500.00, and making the necessary appropriations.



14-005 - 2R. An ordinance authorizing execution of a contract with High Country Line Construction Inc., for the Eckles Road Substation to Sibley 161 kv re-conductor project, in an amount not to exceed $270,776.80; and authorizing minor change orders for an amount not to exceed $27,077.68, and/or time extensions.



14-006 - 2R. An ordinance authorizing a contract with Beemer Construction for the Rock Creek Segment 6 Sewer Capacity Improvements project for an amount not to exceed $1,028,244.00 and authorizing future minor change orders for an amount not to exceed $102,800.00.



14-007 - 2R. An ordinance authorizing supplemental final disposition of approximately 34 cubic feet of city records having met all requirements to be eligible for such disposition.



14-008 - 2R. An ordinance authorizing execution of a contract with Rand Construction Company for the Rock Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant Air Compressor Replacement project for the full sum of $141,733.00; authorizing future minor change orders in an amount not to exceed $14,173.00 and/or time extensions; and making the necessary appropriations.



14-009 - 2R. An ordinance authorizing Change Order No. 4 (final) to the contract for the Little Blue Parkway Phase 10 Improvements, with V.F. Anderson Builders, for an increase of $122,756.02; and making the necessary appropriations.
