1.

Item No. 1 - Approval is recommended to enter into a price agreement (323-13) with Jackson County Electrical Services, to provide electrical services for City buildings, for the period November 1, 2013, through October 31, 2014, with two, one-year renewal options. Expenditures will not exceed budgeted amounts.

Item No. 2. Approval is recommended to issue a purchase order, in the amount of $56,850.00, to Manta Test Systems for a three phase protective relay test system for the Power & Light Department.

Item No. 3 - Approval is recommended to enter into a price agreement (227-13) with Electric Power Systems for breaker replacement parts for the Power & Light Department for the period of October 22, 2013 through September 30, 2014. The agreement contains two, one-year renewal options. Expenditures will not exceed budgeted amounts.

Item No. 4 - Approval is recommended to enter into price agreements (251-14) with Dick Smith Ford, Diamond International Trucks, Landmark Dodge, Cable-Dahmer Chevrolet, Olathe Ford, Shawnee Mission Ford, KC Freightliner, MHC Kenworth, Westfall GMC Truck, Roberts Chevrolet Buick for various departments for the period November 1, 2013, through October 31, 2014, with two, one-year renewal options. Expenditures will not exceed budgeted amounts.

Item No. 5 - Approval is recommended to issue a purchase order to Fimco Services, LLC, in the amount of $72,281.00, for the service of removing, providing and installing new filter media for the Water Department.

13-764 - A resolution reappointing Roger Hershey to the License Surcharge Annual Review Committee for the City of Independence, Missouri.



13-765 - A resolution reappointing Dr. Mohamed Ali Nur and Tia Tuala and appointing Roman A. Davis, Sr. and Donald E. Scott as members of the Human Relations Commission of the City of Independence, Missouri.



13-766 - A resolution reappointing Katy Peterson to the Street Improvement Oversight Committee.



13-767 - A resolution reappointing Dr. Christopher Sullivan as a Licensed Medical Practitioner and appointing Billie Ray Preston as a Lay Member to the Advisory Board of Health of the City of Independence, Missouri.



13-768 - A resolution reappointing Jonathan Zerr to the Industrial Development Authority of the City of Independence, Missouri.



13-769 - A resolution affirming the reappointment of Jonathan Zerr to the Public Safety Sales Tax Oversight Committee.




ORDINANCES

13-118 - 2R. An ordinance authorizing an agreement with Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation, Inc. to develop an Ability Baseball Field in McCoy Park.



13-119 - 2R. An ordinance authorizing a contract with Classic Protective Coatings, Inc., to paint the interior and exterior and completing improvements on the N. Main Tower for the full sum of $435,170.00; authorizing future minor change orders in a total amount not to exceed $43,517.00; and/or time extensions.



13-120 -2R. An ordinance amending the Stay Well Open Access Health Care Plans 1 and 2 document related to chiropractic care and rehabilitative therapy to be effective January 1, 2014.



13-121 - 2R. An ordinance finding, determining and declaring the necessity of acquiring Temporary Construction and Grading Easements for the U.S. 24 Highway Sidewalk Improvements, Brookside Avenue to Overton Avenue, Project No. 70111202; authorizing the negotiation and eminent domain proceedings if necessary; approving the plans and specifications for the project; authorizing the use of experts as needed; authorizing and directing the execution of documents and the payment of funds to property owners or others holding property rights, in conjunction with the project.



13-122 - 2R. An ordinance authorizing execution of a certain License Agreement with Drumm Farm Center for Children to place a monument sign within the street right-of-way at 3210 Lee’s Summit Road in Independence, Jackson County, Missouri.



13-123 - 2R. An ordinance authorizing execution of a certain Improvement Reimbursement Agreement with Buckeye Tank Terminal’s Sugar Creek, Missouri Terminal for the Sugar Creek Interceptor Improvements – Segment 4.



13-124 - 2R. An ordinance authorizing a contract with Performance Contracting, Inc. to paint the interior and exterior of Settling Basin No. 5 at the Courtney Bend Water Plant for the full sum of $321,108.00; authorizing future minor change orders in a total amount not to exceed $32,111.00; and/or time extensions.



13-125 - 2R. An ordinance authorizing a contract with Midwest Mediation & Consulting, LLC, for lobbying services in the amount of $55,000 for the first year and $58,000 for the second year of the two-year contract, with three one-year renewal options.

An ordinance amending Ordinance No. 18148 which levied a tax on all real property subject to taxation on January 1, 2013, within the corporate limits of the City of Independence, Missouri, for general revenue and public health and recreation purposes, and for the Independence Square Special Business Benefit District; said levies and assessments being separate and distinct, all for the fiscal year commencing on the 1st day of July, 2013, and ending on the 30th day of June, 2014.
