The Council approved an Intoxicating Liquor by Drink and Sunday Sales License to Kansas City East Chicken CO, LLC in 2015. The applicant is requesting Council approval to transfer the existing liquor licenses for Stroud’s to Jazz, A Louisiana Kitchen to sell intoxicating liquor in the by the drink seven days a week. The applicant recently purchased this establishment and is in the process of remodeling the building. The applicant is also seeking to include an outdoor 1,500 square foot patio on the south side of the building as part of the licensed premises.
The Corporation appointed Mr. Victor B Allred as Managing Officer for purposes of this liquor license. Mr. Allred is active in other licenses issued by the Missouri Division of Alcohol and Tobacco Control. The background investigation conducted by the Police Department and the Missouri State Highway Patrol on Mr. Allred, and the other corporate officers, revealed they meet the requirements of the Alcoholic Beverages code.
There no hospitals, churches, schools or residentially zoned properties within 300 feet of the proposed premises according to City’s mapping system. There is property zoned R-30 PUD, however this zoning classification does not trigger the Alcoholic Beverage Code provision that approval must be granted by two third majority of the City Council.
Applicable City Departments reviewed the application and the attached Inspection Report includes their comments.
