The Water Department’s Courtney Bend Water Plant Sludge Control House roofs are due for replacing. The roofs are failing because they have been in place since the late 50’s, early 60’s. These roofs provide protection to piping, valves, and communication that control Desludge time in the contact basins and settling basins. This is critical for day to day operations, and for the treatment of the water going through the plant to serve the public. The concrete structures which support these roofs are failing and need to be fixed before they start to cause harm to the water treatment process and plant operations.
