Price agreements establish set prices that remain in effect for a designated period of time. This allows City departments to utilize the agreements in the performance of their operation without requiring a bid process each time a service or commodity is required. The Water Department utilizes vales to control water distribution during street repairs.
The Purchasing Division issued an Invitation to Bid (ITB) issued on March 2, 2017 for valves for the Water Department. Five bids were received: Schulte Supply, Ferguson Waterworks, Blue Springs Winwaterworks, HD Supply Waterworks, and Mid West Flow Control Products. Mid West Flow Control Products bid was for a product not specified, rendering their bid non-responsive. The remaining bidders are recommended for award based on pricing and availability options, to ensure available of valves as needed. The bid tabulation is attached.
The Invitation to Bid was posted as follows.
1. Posted on the City’s website.
2. Direct notification by Public Purchase, the City’s Internet-based,
e-procurement system to 35 potential suppliers; 18 accessed the ITB.
