Add position title:

Management Fellow

Background:

Add new position title of Management Fellow with a pay grade of B35.

This position is located in the City Manager’s office.

The position is a two-year post-graduate fellowship in city management designed to assist recent graduates in developing the skills necessary to become effective local government managers. This position will be responsible for completing one-time projects as well as ongoing assignments that require skills and interest in public administration, project management, and budgeting. Serves as a member of the senior management team to support the administrative functions of the city manager’s office. Provides administrative and management support to the programs and services pertaining to all areas of local government. Particular responsibilities include policy analysis, budgeting, financial management, customer service, strategic planning, performance measurement and organizational change. Manages assigned complex analytical projects requiring research and organizational skills. Interacts with appointed and elected officials; board and committee members; department and division heads; business and community leaders; and citizens to further program goals. Specific assignments will vary depending on the needs of the organization and the skills, abilities, education and interests specific to the successful candidate.





Fiscal Impact:

The Finance Department's vacant (budgeted and funded) Budget Analyst position will be converted to the Management Fellow position, to be housed in the City Manager's Office.
