This project is being built with Storm Water Sales Tax Funds. Funds were allocated for the design and construction of this project as part of the annual Operating and Capital Budget approval for July 1, 2014 to June 30, 2015 (Ordinance 18311).
Initial acquisition approval was granted on February 1, 2016 (Ordinance 18551), and acquisition began in March of 2016. Two of the four parcels have been acquired, but the parcel owners on the north end of the project had concerns with the size of general utility easement that was being taken, and made a counter offer to the City with a new proposed alignment. City staff and the design consultants reviewed the area and determined that the project could be adjusted to be constructed within the new alignment and adjusted the plans accordingly.
This ordinance grants acquisition authority for the easement takings along the adjusted route of the project for the final two parcels on this project.
