The LED (light emitting diode) Exterior Building Lighting project would provide for the second phase of lighting improvements for the Arena. This purchase order will provide for the purchase of forty Prism RGBA (red, green, blue, alpha, color model) fixtures with DMX (lighting control board) capabilities.
Previously on August 8, 2018, the City Council approved LED lighting upgrades for the Main Bowl and Community Ice Rink, which provided for significant energy savings as well as enhanced patron experiences during sporting events and family shows. The lighting was purchased through Techline Sports Lighting on a State of Missouri contract.
This next phase would provide for LED lighting to be installed on the exterior of the building and will be an extension of the first phase of the LED lighting upgrades. It will utilize the same control hardware (DMX) and software as the first phase, which reduces installation costs as well as the on-going operational costs for the lighting.
The Events Center Community Improvement District (CID) Board approved the LED Exterior Building Lighting project at the April 29, 2019 meeting and it is included in the current budget. Approval of this item authorizes the Procurement Manager to issue change orders up to a total of ten (10) percent of the original authorized amount for each order, providing appropriations are available.
