19-751 - A resolution directing the City Manager to amend Article VI of the Personnel Policies and Procedures to include post-retirement benefits for those Medicare eligible.
Recommendations:

Staff recommends approval in conjunction with approval of the City Manager's Proposed Budget for Fiscal Year 2019-20. 
Executive Summary:

The modifications to Article VI of the Personnel Policies and Procedures will include a requirement that the City administer and provide access to a Medicare Supplement Plan for eligible members and dependents. 
Background:

The City Manager's Proposed Budget for Fiscal Year 2019-20 includes modifications to the Post-65 benefit structure. The Proposed Budget contemplates providing current eligible plan members the option to remain on the City's health plan based on COBRA rates, enroll in a Medicare Supplement Plan administered by the City, or enroll in a Medicare Supplement Plan of the members' choosing.  


Fiscal Impact:

Administration of this program is estimated to be approximately $150,000-200,000 annually.
