In April 2019, the Public Works Department bought two 2019 International Harvester Company (IHC) truck chassis for single-axle dump trucks. In order to make these assets useful during the winter season, separate bodies and chassis specifically for those conditions need to be acquired. This request is to purchase two Unibody SS dump beds with embedded chain spreaders and front plows for the winter months.
This purchase is being made through Viking-Cives Midwest, who is a national aftermarket truck equipment provider. They specialize in dump bodies, material spreaders, lift gates, etc. The City has purchased equipment from Viking-Cives Midwest multiple times over the past few years with great success.
This equipment would be purchased off of the Missouri Department of Transportation (MODOT) contract #IFB605CO18000696. The cooperative bids used will have been established pursuant to RSMo. 70.220 or generally accepted governmental purchasing practices through the competitive bidding process.
