This project is for full replacement of the five Concrete Chemical Injection Vaults. The existing vaults have reached the end of their effective life and require replacement. These concrete structures protect the chemical injection lines necessary for the treatment of the City’s drinking water at the Courtney Bend Water Plant, and is a vital part of the plant’s continued operation.
The Procurement Division issued Invitation to Bid (ITB) 20192578 on January 2, 2019. The ITB was published on the City’s website through Public Purchase, the City’s e-bidding provider, which notified 55 potential bidders; 17 accessed the bid.
The City received three (3) bids in response to ITB 20192578. Bids were received from Enerfab, Inc., Mega Industries Corporation, and Gunter Construction. The bid submitted by Mega Industries Corporation met the minimum requirements of the ITB, and was the lowest most responsive and responsible bid submitted. Mega Industries Corporation. has successfully executed projects for the Water Department recently, and possesses the necessary capability and capacity to perform this work.
Approval of this item authorizes the Procurement Manager to issue change orders up to a total of ten (10) percent of the original authorized amount for each order, providing appropriations are available.
