The Power & Light and Water Departments maintain elevated and underground storage tanks. Cathodic protection services provide a technique used to control corrosion of metal surfaces for pipes or water tanks.


The Procurement Division issued an Invitation to Bid (ITB) for Cathodic Protection Service on March 12, 2018. The ITB was published on Public Purchase, the City’s electronic solicitation system, with notices sent to 38 potential bidders; 37 accessed the ITB. One bid from CorrPro was received by the March 23, 2018.  


CorrPro has been the only bidder for this service for a number years. CorrPro is recommended for award based on being the sole bidder and their experience providing this service for the City.  Staff recommends award of a one-year contract with two possible one-year extensions to CorrPro.

$13,499 – 3 year fiscal impact from the Water Department Operations Maintenance Budget

$192,666.90 – 3 year fiscal impact from the Power and Light Operations Budget
