Agenda Title:

  1. Council action is requested on the application received from The Pit Stop Tavern, LLC, for Tavern Intoxicating Liquor License and Sunday Sales License for Barrel and Vine Tavern at 18801 East 39th Street South.

This application meets the requirements of the City’s Alcoholic Beverage Code. 

The Pit Stop Tavern, LLC is requesting Council approval to serve intoxicating liquor by the drink seven days a week in their new venue located inside the Independence Center at 18801 East 39th Street South. 

The Corporation appointed Jesse Lyle as Managing Officer for purposes of this liquor license.  The background investigation conducted by the Police Department and the Missouri State Highway Patrol on Mr. Lyle and the members of the Corporation revealed they do not have any violations that would disqualify them from obtaining a liquor license from the City.

According to the attached zoning map, there is no residentially zoned property within three hundred (300) feet of the proposed premises. There are no hospitals, churches or schools within three hundred (300) feet of the proposed premises.   Staff mailed a notice of the Public Hearing to the surrounding property owners and tenants within three hundred feet of the proposed premises on October 22, 2018.

Applicable City Departments reviewed the application and the attached Inspection Report includes their comments.
