Both CenturyLink and Power and Light own poles in Independence. The Joint Use Pole Attachment Agreement sets forth the costs, fees and requirements governing the attachment of facilities of one utility to the poles owned by the other utility. The new agreement has new charges and penalties to enforce the stipulations of the agreement and reimburse each utility for expenses that were not included in the previous agreement.
The new agreement increases the annual attachment fee from $5 to $10.63 with an annual increase for the 10 year term of the agreement. The Law Department has reviewed and approved the Agreement.
