Agenda Title:

18-732 - A resolution amending the Pay Plan for Non-Represented City employees as enumerated herein on and after the sixteenth day of April: Add one (1) position title; Wellness Program Manager.

Staff recommends approval of the resolution.
Executive Summary:

Adjustment is recommended to the Pay Plan to add one (1) position title; Wellness Program Manager.

The City Manager recommends the creation of a Wellness Division in the Parks/Recreation/Tourism Department.  The Wellness Program Manager position is being created to manage the daily operations and division staff, assist in general management of policy development, program planning and coordination, priority setting, and evaluation of policy and/or organizational changes and new programs. The Wellness Program Manager will be primarily responsible for meeting the objective of the Wellness Division, which is to create, expand, and oversee comprehensive community and employee wellness programs. The Wellness Program Manager will participate in the development, implementation, and/or interpretation of new or revised initiatives and/or programs, review and/or prepare grant proposals, seek grant opportunities and funding sources for programs and activities related to community and employee wellness programs. This position will also participate in community health networking and planning by meeting with professional, civic and volunteer groups and individuals to promote and implement wellness programs.

Fiscal Impact:

The Wellness Program Manager is pay grade B38 ($51,520 - $94,638). The position will be funded utilizing existing appropriations in the General Fund through personnel savings from the reorganization of the Health Department.
