The Blue Valley Water Treatment Building part of the Blue Valley Power Plant facility was constructed in the late 1950’s using a heavy steel frame with masonry exterior walls to enclose the building. The building shows visible signs of damage and distress. The damage includes extensive exterior cracking, and chemical silo support columns show signs of buckling.
The Blue Valley Water Treatment Building Repair project includes the removal and replacement of severely cracked bricks and concrete masonry units, installation of control joints, re-pointing and face-grouting of mortar joints, installation of brick anchors and ties, sealing of wall penetrations, and reinforcing silo support columns.
An Invitation to Bid was issued for the Blue Valley Water Treatment Building Repair project on March 9, 2018 through Public Purchase. The City received and publicly opened two bids for this project. Bids were received from C & M Restoration and S & W Waterproofing. Of these two bids, C & M Restoration provided the lowest, responsive bid for the project, and met the minimum ITB requirements.
Approval authorizes the Procurement Manager to issue change orders up to a total of ten (10) percent of the original amount, providing that appropriations are available.
The Invitation to Bid was posted on the City’s website and Public Purchase, the City's e-bidding system; 57 potential bidders were notified; 27 accessed the ITB.
