The City of Independence Parks, Recreation, Tourism Department is in need of professional seasonal turf maintenance for City athletic fields and turf areas. The services provided will include turf maintenance consistent with current accepted industry standards, staff-specified requirements, and unique site-dependent needs. All chemical applications will require a valid Missouri Chemical Applicator’s License. The turf maintenance season, as determined by actual growing conditions, is estimated to be March 1 to November 1.
The Procurement Division issued an Invitation to Bid (ITB) for Turf Maintenance Service on February 13, 2018. The ITB was published on the City's website and on Public Purchase, the City's e-bidding system, notifying 106 potential bidders; 24 bidders accessed the ITB.
Bids responsive bids were received by the March 2, 2018, deadline: TurfMark and Palmer Lawn. Bids received from TruGreen, DuPree, and Arbor Masters were non-responsive because they did not meet the minimum requirements of the ITB. TurfMark submitted the lowest bid that met all minimum requirements of the ITB and is recommended by staff for award. Annual expenditures will not exceed budgeted amounts.
