A Request for Proposals for a Classification and Compensation (Market Pay) Study was issued by the Procurement Division on March 28, 2017. The purpose was to hire a firm to conduct a comprehensive compensation and classification study of jobs in the City of Independence government, creating a credible Classification & Compensation Plan. In August, Council approved a recommendation to issue a purchase order to Gallagher Benefit Services, Inc. for a Classification and Compensation Study.
Gail T. Meriweather of Arthur J. Gallagher & Co., will present a summary of the city-wide compensation study. The presentation will cover a summary of the activities, results, and recommendations of Gallagher Benefit Services, Inc. (GBS) in the design and implementation of a salary administration program and employee benefits analysis for the City of Independence. In developing the salary administration program three objectives were met: internal equity, external competitiveness, and ease of administration.
